3 Reasons Why a Small Business Needs Super Server Hero

by jon 2024-7-15

Small businesses are often described as the life-blood of America.  Many individuals in the United States will start and run their own business so they can represent themselves and their values to the general public.  This allows men and women across the nation to fully engage into the society of their peers.  It is for these reasons that I want to provide a heroic level web service to my fellow Americans.

However, why would an American small business even want to utilize a small hosting company?  Wouldn't it be better for a company to just use one of the defaults in the hosting world?  Isn't AWS a technical giant, serving all the people?  I want to show you why choosing Super Server Hero for website hosting, consulting, and management, might just be the golden ticket you've been needing all along.

Website Hosting

When it comes to website hosting, you've got the big dogs out there, such as GoDaddy and Bluehost.  Then you have the cloud hosting providers, such as Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.  While all these companies certainly have technical merit for their accomplishments, this does not mean that they are the right choice for a small business.

I'll share a short story.  I used to work as a tech support guy at one of the aforementioned large hosting companies.  Sure it was fun, there was lots of coworkers to talk to, free food, pizza in the breakroom every once in a while, and a paycheck.  However, there was no ongoing training, which is crucial for employee and client success.  There was no expectations, except that you answered enough calls, chats, or tickets, and that the feedback was okay enough.  Well, over time, this hosting company decided that they wanted to "build to a billion."  This is where the tech support really began to be burned out, because they were then asked to sell products to customers that they didn't need, couldn't use, and more expensive.

I decided to leave that company, which is a good thing I did.

I ended up working with a small web hosting company in Utah.  This was truly a God-send for me.  I was able to do system administration on Linux servers, including trips to the data center to swap out hardware.  I was able to work on the networking equipment, write software, and importantly, directly help out customers who had questions or needed updates.

These different jobs I had gave me the foundation to operate a service of my own.  I have over a decade of experience in website hosting, and I want to talk to small business owners who have questions about servers, hosting, and websites, and provide answers to help them on their journey.

Website Consulting

As you may have noticed, web hosting is my passion.  However, without having a website, there is nothing to host!  So naturally I became interested in building out websites.

I labeled this section "consulting" instead of development, because I want to discuss with small businesses about what their needs are, and then either use a prebuilt tool/app or build a custom website/web-app.

American businesses should be as diverse as its people.  Here in the United States, many citizens believe in individualism.  Not to the degree of selfishness, but to the contrary, where we believe that each individual is so very important that everyone has value, and everyone can help and serve another.  This is why our freedom and our bill of rights is critically important, so that each person is protected in their ideas, property, and their own pursuit of happiness.  It is for these reasons that I want to consult with small businesses, so their unique case can have a voice.

I definitely see the value of a canned website solution, such as WordPress, or some other tool that is optimized for SEO.  Sometimes WordPress can be the right answer.  However, if your needs extend beyond this, these are the situations that I want to work with people on, and figure out solutions that provide a win-win situation for all participants.

Website Management

My final point, managing a website.  This service is important to offer because many small businesses already have an established website.  However, they may not have an established support system.

Sometimes a site needs someone to simply change a few words or names.  Or, there may be a need for new pages to be added, or for pages to be removed.

Many many websites are built with software tools that definitely should be updated from time to time.  It is important to keep the software up to date, to help avoid security problems and vulnerabilities.

Websites should also monitored to ensure they are up and performing at a decent speed.
